Exor Social Services Assessment Service

Social Services Assessment Service (SSAS) is the name of the new national compliance  programme.  It was initially developed as part of a wider project funded by the London Centre of Excellence (LCE) to better manage the market for accommodation based services, initially  for people with learning disabilities.  The initial participants were from the London Boroughs (Croydon, Kingston, Lambeth, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth).


The objectives of the service are to;

  • Ensure that there is a consistent approach when dealing with service providers.
  • Ensure that communication between the authorities is transparent and effective.
  • Ensure that service providers have the options to ‘passport’ through the region – once accredited in one authority , fit to supply in another.
  • Ensure cross authority service providers need only submit evidence once.
  • Minimise cost to the authority, via a provider pays model.
  • Deliver a web based portal to allow the authority to manage the supplier database.

The service will enable service providers of all sizes to certify their capabilities and positions them to win business in the Social Services market. Exor will be continuing its programme of recognising standards providers may have already met, in order to reduce duplication and costs that may be incurred.
