This means that you can ‘buy with confidence’ as we can offer you a list of companies that have met the standards of the scheme, and have been checked for the following:

• Technical competence in their particular trade checked by 'on site ' assessments
• That they offer clear details of the work being to be undertaken to include specification, materials to be used, price, payment method and timescale
• Compliance with the law on health, safety and waste disposal issues
• That the company are financially sound and have adequate public liability insurance
• That the company offer assistance with building control issues
• That they offer the opportunity to purchase of insurance to cover ceasing to trade, defective workmanship. This insurance is provided, when prepayment forms part of the contract
• That they have a complaints process that is supported by a low cost complaints resolution service in the event of the contractor being unable to resolve the complaint
