Exor helps companies manage their carbon footbprint

Written by Ian McKinnon

Exor Management Services and Green 2020 Environment and Energy join forces to provide easy to use tools for businesses to measure and reduce carbon emissions.

Leading business compliance specialist, Exor Management Services and Green 2020 Environment and Energy have teamed up to create a unique range of carbon footprint management services.  Focused on the crucial role carbon emissions now play in new contracts awarded by both the public and private sector, the new Carbon Footprint services are designed to enable businesses to measure their carbon emissions and, in turn, enable organisations to manage the emissions of their supply chain.

Key to the new service is the production of detailed reports on an organisation’s carbon emissions, backed up by practical solutions to help reduce these in order to comply with contractors CO2 emissions requirements.

“There is enormous pressure right across the public and private sector for organisations to find ways to tackle their carbon emissions – and this pressure is being linked to supply contracts, especially coming from major corporates and the public sector” confirmed Ian McKinnon, Managing Director, Exor.

“Businesses therefore need to be able to measure and then reduce their emissions.   Organisations awarding contracts also need to have confidence in CO2 emissions data provided as part of contract tenders.  We therefore believe our Carbon Footprint services, developed in conjunction with Green 2020, could play a vital role in empowering businesses to manage their emissions which, in turn, should help them secure important contracts.”

Using Green 2020’s online CarbonalysisTM Enterprise carbon footprint manager tool, three services have been launched to both help businesses score their own carbon footprint and give organisations managing their supply chain the ability to measure the environmental and carbon reduction success of companies within their supply base.

An initial carbon score can be calculated free of charge as part of the Exor Compliance service.  For an additional cost of £70, companies can download a full report in relation to their carbon score and the actions needed to improve that score.   And, for those organisations looking to implement improvements to their score, Green 2020’s environmental and energy experts can provide advice and consultancy.

“Measuring emissions in the supply chain and working with suppliers to reduce emissions has never been more important. Typically 60% to 70% of an organisation’s total carbon emissions come from its supply chain and with increasing cost of energy and the introduction of the Climate Change Act, now is the time to act and work together” said Philip Emsley Chief Operating Officer at Green 2020.

“We are therefore thrilled to be working with Exor , its clients and suppliers and we hope that by working in collaboration we not only help reduce emissions, but also help save money for both client and supplier” continued Charles Kee, Managing Director at Green 2020.

“Allowing suppliers to understand their environmental impact and associated costs will assist them in better managing their own businesses. It will also, importantly, position them to win business with customers for whom this is a core selection criteria.”
